Our Core Values in Counseling and Discipleship:

• The church is made up of gifted people who are supposed to serve one another (1st Corinthians 14)
• While all are to encourage, build up, admonish, and restore in general, the church has some gifted and trained people who do this with great specificity. (Rom. 14:19; 15:14; Gal. 6:1; Titus 2:2-5; 2nd Timothy 4:1-2)
• The scripture is the resource and authority by which the will of God is known and obeyed (Isaiah 55:2, 11; 2nd Timothy 3:16-17)
• Transformation (Sanctification) is a work of God. This godly change is accomplished through the means by which He appointed us to follow (Romans 12:1-2; John 17;17; 1st Pet.2:2; Eph. 4:15-17; Hebrews 10:22-25)
• While God changes us, believers are to actively pursue this godly change (1st Peter 1:14-16; Ephesians 4:1; 17-24)
• This transformation process is life-long and its goal is to become like Christ. (Romans 8:28-29)
