Within his instructions to the church, the Apostle Peter writes this simple sentence:

“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.” (1Peter 3:8)

At first glance this seems like simple instructions. After all, Christ accomplished some of this on the cross. Yet since Peter had to tell us to do it, these things must require effort; they don’t happen supernaturally. In fact, what we really find is that life can move at a pace that precludes these values that Peter laid out. If the Christian is not intentional, “unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind” will not happen.

The Fellowship Groups at Berean are a format whereby these Christian practices can take place. Fellowship Groups don’t ensure that these things will happen, but it is our intention. We invite all, members and friends, to join a Fellowship Group and use them as a resource to receive ministry from God through others as well as serving God through others. This is one of many ways that we hope to fulfill the love of Christ until He comes and perfects our efforts!
